Phu Singh National Reserved Forest
The first recommended place is Phu Singh National Reserved Forest. This is a place where they preserve over 20 square kilometers of area. There are some geological changes to the tectonic plates of the earth which creates weird shaping rocks scatter all over the areas, but also beautiful to see. The most highlighted thing here is the Three Whales Rock which is a giant rock near a tall cliff that separates into three smaller rocks.
If you see these rocks from a distance, you will see something that resemble three whales. Thus, the name of the place. In fact, these rocks are about 75 million years old! This is also a point where you can see both very beautiful sunrise and the views of green abundant forest plains that goes over into Laos.
Tham Phra Waterfall
Next is a waterfall called Tham Phra Waterfall which is a big waterfall and one of the most beautiful waterfalls at Bueng Kan. It is a three-level waterfall in which the first part is quite deep, but the middle section is the highlight of this waterfall and it is on the top where you can see the fresh flow of water and you can also play at a natural slider which looks pretty fun! From up there, you can see the view of the waterfall very clearly.
One thing to take note is that the water only flows in the rainy season from June to October. You also need to ride a boat to get here and while you are at it, you will see the abundant nature on the two sides of the path and a sense of freshness from the rain.
Tard Wimarn Thip Waterfall
Another waterfall that you should really see is Tard Wimarn Thip Waterfall. It has a height of around 70 meters with 100 to 150 meters of width. It also has multiple levels for you to explore and every level is magnificent! The water flows from a rocky mountain and you can only see this waterfall in the rainy season. Especially when the rainfall is massive, as the waterfall has no place to store the water, the water will continuously be flowing very quickly and gone pretty fast as well. You might want to ask the staff before you come here as you might waste your time.
